In time, we hope that plastic bags will disappear altogether in Singapore. It started with IKEA charging for the use of plastic bags and now even the Sloane Clinic is embracing eco-friendly bags.

The Sloane Clinic’s Eco-friendly Bag
23 June 2009, Singapore – It has been two years since the fashion world went into frenzy over Anya Hindmarch’s notorious £5 bag. In Singapore today, to celebrate the opening of its third clinic at ION Orchard, The Sloane Clinic launches its very own environmentally-conscious carrier to further its contribution to society.
Made from 100% unbleached cotton, the modest eco-bags they come in two sizes – medium and petite – sporting “Nothing on me is Plastic” along its side. Taking a leaf out of Hindmarch’s book, the whimsical slogan is a word play on plastic surgery, announcing the increasing trend towards non-evasive treatments. 10,000 carriers have been produced to encourage patients to give a little back to Mother Earth. The complimentary eco-friendly bags will be given out to VIP card holders as well as regular patients when they make purchases at The Sloane Clinic.
From gas-electric hybrid powertrains to paper sludge Japanese fish grills, The Sloane Clinic’s “Nothing on me is Plastic” carriers will join them in the green movement, marching to the tune of Jack Johnson’s “3R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”.
