If ever you needed extra incentive to recycle the packaging that comes with all your purchases, The Life Box is it. Simply tear up, plant and water, and voila, you’ve planted several trees.
(They’d have to be native to your location though, we think).
What is The Life Box™?
The Life Box™ was invented by Paul Stamets, mycologist, author and founder of Fungi Perfecti®, LLC. The Life Box™ suite of products builds upon the synergy of fungi and plants by infusing spores and seeds together inside of packaging materials that can be planted.

Great idea! However, not sure if it would be feasible in Singapore… seeing how NParks is quite uptight about the number of trees and species on Singapore soil. Also, the type of seeds and fungi that are used in The Life Box may not be suitable in the hot and humid Asian climate so how might it be made more suitable for the tropical zone? How might we promote this to the largely skeptical and some-what apathetic Singaporean public to tear up packaging to plant in their (non-existent) gardens?
Interesting questions to ponder upon and perhaps work on in the future!
