Using cows to help combat climate change?
What if the way that humans are managing cows is the root cause of the issue?
What if simply changing the ways we manage our livestock back to the way Mother Nature does it, with her large wild herds and grasslands, actually brought the soil back to life? This could in turn help take care of the carbon released from the cows and beyond.
The work being done by the Savory Institute and their partners is an example of how further understanding ecosystems and working with Mother Nature can potentially make a huge difference in the fights against biodiversity loss, desertification and even helping to combat climate change.
The Savory Institute have been participating in the Carbon War Room’s Sustainable Agriculture working track, supported by Virgin Unite. They are also one of 11 shortlisted organisations in the Virgin Earth Challenge.
