From now till 30 November, City Hall plays home to a slice of Brazil’s famed Amazon forest, otherwise known as “the lungs of the planet”.
In celebration of 30 years of bilateral relations between Brazil and Singapore, the Embassy of Brazil has organised an exhibition titled Amazonia in Singapore, which looks closely at the diversity of life on the Amazon, and gives an insight into the sustainable measures undertaken to maintain the delicate balance of development and preservation.
In this exhibition, visitors can expect a multi-sensory experience through the interactive image and video installations on site. Also, discover the artistic and design sensibilities of Brazillians through the design objects, indigenous artifacts, and sustainable fashion pieces on display.
Do look out for the tasteful and impeccable works of art by jewellery designer Fabrizio Giannone, as well as sculptor Beatriz Maria Doria.
Venue: City Hall basement, St Andrew’s Road (opposite the padang)
Date: 20 – 30 November 2009
Admission: Free
