Come 20 March, Young NTUC will hold a charity mass run on Pulau Ubin to raise awareness of climate change, a first of its kind on the island.
Titled RUN 350, the event borrows its name from the global 350 movement to cut current worldwide carbon emission levels to the upper safe limit of 350 parts per million as advised by climate scientists versus the 387 parts per million that we are emitting. All proceeds of the run will go to Garden City Fund’s Plant-a-Tree programme, which Young NTUC hopes to contribute 350 trees to.
Given the nature of the run, limited places are available and registration ends 28 February, so interested candidates should apply to participate in either of the two categories of 5km or 10km as soon as possible. Tickets cost $20 for NTUC members and $30 for non-NTUC members and includes transportation to and from Pulau Ubin plus a limited edition t-shirt. Sign up here today!
