Taiwans food market hit hard by DEHP crisis

Another sector that has yet to feel the full brunt – tourism. This, especially after some vendors in Taiwans iconic night markets have been found to use plasticiser in drinks. Some have already seen business drop in the past week. Mr Li said: “What the Taiwan government should focus on is to build a tracking system for food products sold in the night markets. If not, Taiwans renowned night markets will suffer and this will hurt tourism.”

Singapore eggs found with Doxycycline residue

The farm staff’s plea of innocence is hard to accept – you see a variety of locally produced ‘designer’ eggs with such enhancements as cordyceps and pro-biotics – it isn’t surprising they’d find anti-biotics in the eggs anyway.
The price hike comes after food safety authorities suspended the sale of eggs produced by N & N Agriculture Farm, whose eggs were found to contain an antibiotic called doxycycline. Staff from the farm said they did not feed their poultry the antibiotic, and suspect there was something wrong with the feed
