Here’s a look at some recent eco-friendly technological innovations of note we might all be using on a daily basis sometime in the near future.

RITI Printer
Though still only a prototype and yet to be commercially produced, this innovative printer will use your leftover coffee dregs to print your documents. For now, there is but one catch. After you load the cartridge with the used grounds, you need to move it manually for it to print. But provided they can figure a way of attaching a motor to do this automatically (which honestly should only be a matter of time), the only choice you will need to make is whether your reports should smell a Colombian or a Java.

Blight Blinds
Despite its somewhat unfortunate name, this is a revolutionary innovation with heaps of practicality. Using flexible solar cells and electro-luminescent foil, Blight acts like any ordinary Venetian blind during the day, but at the same time absorbs and stores the solar energy, which is then used to illuminate the room with energy-efficient light after the sun goes down. Due to the blinds’ inherent flexible design users can also adjust the position to obtain various lighting effects. In case you have no use for the lights, nothing is lost. The stored energy could then be used to power other household/office electrical appliances, by means of an inverter.
